St. Cloud Florida real estate agent Superstar Cindy Farmer of Corcoran Connect is being interviewed by Jeanine Corcoran. Jeanine started the interview by asking Cindy how long she has been a realtor. Cindy replied that she has been a realtor for 18 years since 2005.
Jeanine followed up and asked Cindy what inspired her to become a realtor. She answered that she started out in Human Resources for the ACE Hardware Corporation. After being with them for many years, they regionalized, and Cindy was asked to relocate to Georgia and head up the customer service department for all the stores. She did that for many years and then one day decided to be a stay-at-home mom.
Cindy and her family then relocated to Florida and after her youngest child was 4 years old, she decided to take her customer service skills and put it into real estate. Jeanine said that it made a lot of sense for her to do that. Cindy was then asked by Jeanine what her favorite part of real estate is. She replied that it is working with so many great people. She shared that she does have a Certified International Property Specialist designation, so she loves working with foreign nationals. Cindy also works with a lot of resort and second home buyers and sellers and that’s where her passion has taken her over the years.
Jeanine asked Cindy to tell the audience a little bit more about herself. Cindy answered that she grew up in a small town in the suburbs of Chicago. She has 4 siblings who remain in Chicago, so she takes numerous trips to go back home and visit with them.
Cindy is married to a wonderful guy for almost 29 years now. She is the mother of two children and her youngest is her daughter and is completing her last year of college. Cindy also has a 25-year-old son, Michael. He and his dog were hit by a drunk driver at a high speed and both were killed instantly. It has been a struggle for her over the last two years, but they have a great support system. Cindy’s family and friends as well as the MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) organization have been a huge help and continue to be.
Soon after Michael’s death a breeder from Atlanta heard about his death from the news and reached out to us. She is a breeder of golden doodles and wanted to offer one of her puppies to Cindy. Her first reaction was absolutely not but she kept in touch with us letting us know how many puppies she had left.
Cindy was encouraged by her friends as they felt having a dog could help with the grief they were experiencing. She said she finally gave in and took a male puppy and so she is a human mom of a 64-pound golden doodle. Cindy said that Michael played Rugby in college and had such a passion for the sport that it was only fitting to name her angel on earth, Rugby.
Jeanine asked Cindy if she had a story to share about real estate. Cindy said she did. Back in 2006, she was with a small brokerage company in Celebration, FL and this family walked in. They loved the area and wanted to buy a holiday home. Cindy showed them many properties and gave them a tour of Celebration. The next day the couple was so excited to share with Cindy that they had just purchased a new construction condo without her.
Cindy stated that she was so happy for them but at the same time didn’t know how to react either. We kept in touch with each other. Cindy shared that real estate is not always instant gratification, it’s more about building and nurturing a relationship. Fast forward 17 years later when that couple decided to sell, they contacted Cindy. Jeanine said, what a great story. They just recently closed on selling their condo with Cindy’s help and they will remain lifelong friends.
Jeanine asked Cindy how long she had worked with Corcoran Connect. Cindy replied about 3 years now. Jeanine followed up and asked what Cindy liked about working with this team here at Corcoran Connect. She answered that she had known Jeanine for many years, and it seemed like we kept running into each other quite often and got together for coffee. Cindy had watched her business grow over the years and when the right moment arrived, she has happy to join Jeanine and the team at Corcoran Connect.
