Over the course of five months, I built the massive roof for my off-grid log cabin — completely alone. This video is a full compilation of the entire process, from the very first beams to the final board.
At the beginning, I was unsure whether I’d be able to lift and install such heavy logs by myself, but careful planning and determination helped me get it done. Some of the beams weigh over 500 kilograms and span more than 11 meters (39 feet). As the work progressed, I added support posts, reinforced the ridge beam, and slowly gave shape and strength to the roof structure.
There were moments of rest, moments of doubt, and moments of pride. Despite the intense heat and challenges, I’m proud to say I finished this stage of the cabin — and now I’m ready to move on to the interior.
Thanks for watching. I hope this video gives you a full sense of what it took to build this roof alone in the wilderness.
