I am backfilling around the basement with sand and levelling the ground around the house in this video. Now it is a beautiful level yet sloping yard that will be very nice to work on, looks great and will help keep the basement dry by causing rain water to slope away from the house in all directions. I had to fight through difficult winter conditions and problems and this ended up being a very big job but I am happy to be done now, and I will keep pushing forward to do what I can over our long, brutal winter.

I have lived offgrid in the bush for over 3 years, but now I am moving to the next chapter in my life and am building a big log home as my next place to live. It is going to be an incredible journey building my own home. I am using logs I harvested myself and plan to do most of the work by myself. This project will be the main focus of my channel, with many other adventures along the way im sure!
