We are back to building our Mountain Modern Home on Red Moose Ranch! But, building a home may NOT be what you think it is...

It isn't all about precisely sawn perfect lumber or nice pneumatic nailers. If I was just a framer, we'd be attaching sill plates or cutting floor joists. But as an owner-contractor-builder (menial laborer, clean-up guy, and overall gopher), there is a plethora of tasks that HAVE to get done first.

You might say some of this stuff is downright unglamorous! But this project cannot move forward without completing these important steps.

You mean you haven't seen a ton of videos about removing snap ties, locating septic stubs, and prepping a drainage trench? Whaaat?!

Don't worry...unglamorous does NOT mean "boring video!" You'll see...
