Andy Haldane, former chief economist at the Bank of England, says he is "concerned" about mortgage rates which are "yet to hit people".
Mr Haldane expressed concern over the state of the UK economy, saying that the chance of a recession in next year was an "evens bet", and that the "tiniest tilt" in the economy could cause growth to fall.
