Mortgage Rates Fall to a 3-Month Low

The number of US mortgage applications increased for the 4th consecutive week as mortgage rates decreased to nearly a 3-month low. However, despite this increase, the number of people submitting loan applications to buy houses remains at extremely low levels. When looking at pre-COVID levels, purchase applications haven't been this low since approximately 1995. This is based on a new report from the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) that was published on 11/29/23 (link below).

To give you a quick mortgage interest rates update, according to the Mortgage News Daily the average 30 yr fixed rate mortgage is around 7.1% (at the time of filming this video for those with excellent credit).
