Mortgage rates keep climbing as inflation is well above the Fed’s target range and US retail sales came in higher than expected as well. It appears we are in for a higher for longer interest rate environment as the Federal Reserve isn’t expected to cut interest rates anytime soon.

Now that average mortgage rates are about a five month high, how will that impact the housing market? Should you wait to buy a home until mortgage interest rates fall? Let’s discuss!

To give you a quick mortgage interest rates update, according to the Mortgage News Daily the average 30yr fixed mortgage rate is around 7.4% for the current mortgage rates (at the time of filming this video for those with excellent credit).
