Real estate investment trusts are companies that own income producing asset properties like hotels, apartment buildings, and more.
REITS are publicly traded so you can actually buy it like a stock or ETF on most brokerages
Money gets pooled together with other investors to buy. And REITs are required to pay out 90% of profits back as dividends to shareholders.
However, they don’t offer much in capital appreciation and you’re not technically owning property so you won’t get tax benefits from owning real estate.
