Retirement planning is important and everyone needs to plan for retirement to make sure they aren't relying on only social security if social security is even around for the following generations.
Of course IRA's and 401K's work but one of the easiest ways to fully fund your retirement is with a few solid real estate investments.
All it takes is 2-3 duplexes in a city like Austin and you'll end up with a few million in retirement or be able to hold those properties for the next generation and supplement other retirement income with the cashflow from those properties.
If you buy a few duplexes in your 20's and 30's and hold them for 30 years you'll end up with properties that are fully paid off and providing great passive income. Add in a very conservative 3% appreciation rate and you'll be shocked at what they are worth when fully paid off!
