When Los Angeles comedian Vickie Eisenstein had to move early on in the pandemic, she was elated to find a listing online for a one-bedroom apartment in West Hollywood for just $1,100 per month. The agent said that he wasn’t showing the place in-person due to COVID-19, and she agreed to rent it sight-unseen arrangement after he emailed her a rental agreement along with his realtor’s license number.
