Kelli kicked it off the tour and first mentioned the fact that the Clermont Florida Citrus Tower was built in 1956 and was only supposed to be 75 feet tall. However, at the end of the build it ended up being 226 feet tall, which is the equivalent of a 22-story building.

Kelli then added that Lake Apopka is Florida’s largest spring-fed lake. Directly to the left of the lake looking out from the observation tower is the new development called Minneola which is just amazing.
Looking further left you see the lakes and the chain of lakes of Clermont which all connect. You can enjoy numerous water activities such as boating and jet skiing.
Kelli also alerted people of the new development called the Olympus Project which is coming along nicely. She noted that on a clear day and if you brought your binoculars, you could probably even see Mickey Mouse from the observation deck all the way in Orlando FL.
Moving East through the Citrus Tower observation deck you can see one of Clermont’s Hospitals and a little further beyond that, you will find the Clermont National Golf Course.
Kelli stated that further off in the distance yet still visible from the Citrus Tower in Clermont Florida is downtown Orlando FL. You can also see the Turnpike being built up as well as being able to view Lake Sumter Community College.
Kelli said this is a great place to view a lot of history in Clermont, Winter Garden, and the surrounding towns. She wrapped up her tour with a fun fact.
