This film shows my journey of building a log cabin alone in the forest over the past 2 years. When I first came to this place, there was nothing here. Just a piece of land covered with dense bushes. In this film you can see those first moments — clearing the land, burning the bushes, and preparing the place where everything would begin.
My journey started back in 2021, when I created my YouTube channel. At that time, I had no experience, no money, no connections — nothing. But I had a strong desire to build a life closer to nature and create something with my own hands.
The first step was a small cabin — a simple structure that later became my sauna and a small sleeping space. It wasn’t perfect, but it gave me something much more important: experience. That small build allowed me to understand the process, make mistakes, and learn from them.
Only after that, I felt ready to start building my main house — the big log cabin you see in this film.
These two years were full of hard work and challenges. I worked in all conditions — heat, cold, rain, and snow. I had to figure out everything step by step, learn along the way, and sometimes redo things when they didn’t go as planned.
Many people ask me where I learned all of this. The truth is — I learned by doing. By making mistakes, solving problems, and not giving up.
During this time, I was also developing my filmmaking. I tried to capture not just the process, but the feeling of this life — the silence, the work, and the moments in between. This film is a collection of the most important parts of that journey.
I live in Ukraine, in a small town in the western part of the country. And having this place in the forest gives me a sense of peace — a place where I can step away from the noise of the world and focus on building something real.
I know that this journey has inspired many people, and that gives me motivation to continue.
There is still a lot of work ahead. The next step is the interior of the house, and I’m looking forward to it.
