Five different companies forecasts for mortgage interest rates for 2023. Each company had a leading economist give their mortgage forecast by one of three criteria. They could choose whether mortgage interest rates would go up, stay the same or drop in 2023.
While mortgage rates are affected by the federal reserve interest rate adjustments, they do not strictly match and mortgage rates often are leading indicators to future long term interest rates. The five economists come from Zillow, First American, National Association of Realtors, Corelogic and ATTOM data solutions.
