First What are TimeShares -timeshares involve prepaying for a hotel, it is basically owning a brief stay at a given hotel or resort for a number of years, it offers fractional ownership much like a stock in that you own a specified stay along with a number of other individuals. For the recurring yearly stay, you often pay $10,000 to $20,000 plus recurring maintenance charges of $800+ to spend a week at a hotel or resort for a number of years.
Why Time Shares Are a Bad Investment -It is infinitely cheaper to just rent a hotel you can save thousands of dollars, and you are not locked into going to the same vacation spot year after year -It is very difficult to resell the timeshares as most people are not looking to buy them, they offer no benefits of buying or renting, its next to impossible to get out of the timeshares as they are ordinarily set for life, they are depreciating assets, they are sold when you are on vacation when your guard is down, it generates no income, timeshares are not liquid investments as they are difficult to sell, and it is infinitely cheaper to rent a hotel
