I have both long term rentals and short term rentals that I self manage in Florida. I currently live 2,437 miles away from my rental properties. So it can be a challenge to manage the vacation rentals. Our guests have become much more needy since this pandemic started. I have people cleaning the properties, and maintaining the yards, etc. But I started getting complaints about cleanliness and the yards not being kept up. So I knew it was time for me to fly back and see what was going on. I'll show you what I found and talk about the problems I found when I got there. It is possible to self manage your properties from far away, but you have to go and see your properties in person every couple of months to make sure all of your people are doing what they are supposed to be doing. Otherwise, people get lazy and they do not care about your properties.
